Poinsettias are a great symbol of Christmas. And these easy felt poinsettias are a stunning decoration. Use them around your house, add them to headbands, or add them to the gifts you give to family and friends.
You will need:
- felt fabric in your choice of colour.
- Scissors sharp enough to cut fabric
- fabric glue or a hot glue gun
- a button or beads for the centre of your flower
Start by downloading my poinsettia template here:
Cut 1 large flower, and five petals from your felt fabric.
Add a small amount of glue to the base of each petal.
Fold and pinch together, securing with a peg whilst your glue dries.
Glue and pinch the base of all five petals.
Add a splurge of glue to the centre of your large flower.
Arrange your pinched petals on top of your large flower so that the pinched base sits in the glue. Off set your petals so that they are sitting in the gaps between the petals on your large flower.
Add the button details on top of the petals.
Now you just need to wait for your glue to dry. If you are using fabric glue, it should be touch dry within a few hours, but will not be set properly for about 24 hours. Hot glue will set much quicker.
