About

This is me!

I’m Alyson, and I run Beading Brilliant.

I love teaching kids to craft. Watching them explore new ideas and try new things. Witnessing their wonder as they turn average materials into something AMAZING!! That is my buzz. And it never gets old!!

I’m rubbish at remembering to take photos of myself. Crafting is much more fun and I usually forget during Crafty Club. So here is an impromptu selfie in my office packed full to the brim with crafty goodness!!

I have always been into crafting. Homemade has always been better than shop bought in our family. The love that goes into making something makes it special. Gifting that something is even better.

Beading Brilliant started out selling craft kits. But stuffing boxes is nowhere near as fun as actually crafting! So I switched my business to run Crafty Classes. I have not looked back.

We have a go at so many different things in Crafty Club each week. New techniques, new equipment, new ideas. We think sideways and sometimes upside down! We learn new skills and have loads of fun.

But Crafty Club is about more than just crafting. It is a safe space for your children to explore their creativity without pressure or expectation. Yes, I set a craft for each week. But they are not limited with how far they can go with that craft. They can push it further. But if they’re not feeling it, there is no pressure.

My mission is to inspire your children to explore crafting and all its possibilities, whilst also exploring and challenging themselves. Recently, a child refused to use a glue gun. Turns out she had burnt herself on a hot melt glue gun. I’m not surprised! Hot melt glue hurts! But I use cool melt guns in my sessions. So she had a go. And was so very proud of herself for conquering that hurdle. That might only be a little boost to her confidence. But little boosts make all the difference.

I am fully DBS checked and hold a full paediatric first aid certificate, so your children are in safe hands.

So that is me and my business.

I hope to craft with you (or your crafty kids) at one of my sessions very soon.
