1:1 Knitting & Crochet Lessons

Learn at your own pace

Prefer something more personalised? My 1:1 knitting and crochet lessons are designed around you.

These sessions are particularly useful for children who would benefit from individual support, but they’re also available for adults who want to learn a new skill or develop their existing abilities.

You don’t need to be a complete beginner. Your session can be tailored to whatever you’re hoping to achieve.

Complete beginner?

If you’ve never picked up knitting needles or a crochet hook before, we’ll start with the basics and work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Learning a new craft takes time, so complete beginners may need several sessions before they feel confident enough to tackle larger projects. We’ll focus on building good foundations first, then gradually introduce new techniques as your skills develop.

Already know the basics?

If you’ve already learned to knit or crochet, we can work on developing your existing skills.

Perhaps you’d like to:

  • Learn new stitches or techniques
  • Improve your tension
  • Learn how to read patterns
  • Understand crochet charts
  • Learn to increase or decrease
  • Try working in the round
  • Learn a particular technique
  • Work on a specific project
  • Get help when you’ve become stuck on a pattern
  • Build the confidence to start tackling more complicated projects

You choose what you’d like to learn, and I’ll help you work out how to get there.

Bring your own equipment or start with a kit

Bring your own equipment or add a kit. For 1:1 sessions, you have the flexibility to choose what works best for you.

Already have your own equipment?
Bring your knitting needles or crochet hooks along with you and simply book the lesson time.

Starting from scratch?
You can add an equipment and materials pack to your booking, giving you the essentials you’ll need to practise between sessions.

This means you can either use the equipment you already have or start with everything you need without having to shop for supplies yourself.

Where do 1:1 lessons take place?

1:1 lessons are often held at your home, making them a convenient option for children and families who would prefer to learn in familiar surroundings.

Sessions can also be arranged at another suitable location by agreement.

How long are the lessons?

1:1 lessons typically last one hour, although longer sessions can be arranged where appropriate.

The number of sessions you’ll need depends entirely on your starting point and what you’d like to achieve. There is no set programme to complete — we’ll work at your pace and build your skills as you go.
