Basic Finger Knitting

Did you know, you don’t even need needles to knit? You can knit with just some yarn and your fingers, or even your arms! Check out my video, and have a go at some finger knitting. Let me know how you get on.

Time to complete: 20-30 mins
Difficulty: Intermediate
Adult Help: 🌿 A little help – Children can learn and practise the finger-knitting technique themselves once the first few stitches have been demonstrated. Younger or first-time crafters may need an adult to show them the technique and help correct dropped or twisted stitches.

You will need:

  • Some yarn (a chunky weight will be easier than a double knit weight. But if you don’t have any chunky weight yarn, try using 2 strands of double knit together)
  • a pair of scissors
  • your fingers, and
  • a little bit of patience 🙂
