Reindeer Ring Bauble

This is a cute little decoration that is quick and simple to make.

You will need:

  • A wooden ring. These are readily available at most craft shops. Or a wooden curtain ring would work just as well.
  • Jute cord or string
  • A pipe cleaner
  • A red pompom
  • Glue. Fabric glue would work best here, but standard pva glue or hot glue will also work well. You can read more about which glue to use here.
  • Eyes. These are optional, but either paper eyes or googly eyes will work well.

Start wrapping your thick jute string around your wooden ring.

Keep going until it is completely covered.

Use the pipe cleaners to create antlers. Use one for each antler. Attach them either side of your hanging loop. These do not have to be perfect. Antlers are different for every reindeer, so experiment until you are happy with them.

Glue the red pompom at the bottom of the ring, opposite the hanging loop.

You can leave it there if you’d prefer. Or you can glue on a couple of eyes, just below the antlers.

Variations

You could use a larger ring and make a variety of sizes. How about changing the colour of the string or cord you are using, and make some colourful reindeer. How would glittery pipe cleabers look for the antlers.

There are loads of possibilities. Have fun and experiment and make your reindeers your own.

Happy Crafting!
