Straw Stars

This one is super easy, and super cheap to make. It takes just minutes to make one of these stars. You can use some festive straws if you have them, or a plain straw. You could even get the kids to colour or decorate each of the straw peices before you string them together.

you will need:

  • festive straws
  • string
  • scissors
Various colorful festive straws, a pair of scissors, and a spool of red and white string on a cutting mat.

Let’s get making…

Cut your straws into equal lengths. You will need 5 straws per star.

A collection of colorful festive straws in various patterns spread out on a green cutting mat, accompanied by orange scissors.

Thread your straws onto a length of string. Tie the string together at the top. Don’t make it too tight, you need a little bit of wiggle room.

Cross over top two straws, then fold thee down and tuck them under the bottom straw, as demonstrated in this video.

Hang your star decorations up, and enjoy.
