Snowman Smoothie

This is a fun addition to a festive breakfast. You don’t need to freeze the banana if you don’t have time, but it will make the smoothie super frothy and creamy if you do.

You will need…

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 250ml milk
  • 50g greek yoghurt
  • 30g desiccated coconut
  • a few drops of vanilla extract
  • honey to taste.

Let’s get making…

This recipe makes about 2 small glasses.

Slice the banana. Separate the slices out onto a lined baking sheet, then pop them in the freezer for a few hours, or overnight.

Prepare the cups or glasses by decorating a snowman face on them with sharpies.

Add the milk, yoghurt, coconut and vanilla to a blender.cRemove the banana pieces from the freezer and add these too.

Blend together until completely smooth.

Taste, and add a little honey or maple syrup as necessary

Pour the smoothie into the prepared glasses, and cover with squirty cream and snowflake sprinkles before serving.

Variations…

My kids loved this smoothie, although the coconut got mixed reviews.

Add a handful of spinach to make a grinch style smoothie instead. Don’t worry, the banana will mask the green taste.
