Christmas Popcorn

perfect festive treat to give as a gift in decorated jars, or enjoy with a cheesy Christmas movie on a cold evening. It’s up to you whether you sue popping kernels and a saucepan, or cook your pop corn in the microwave. My kids certainly enjoying watching the corn jump around in the saucepan on the hob, so that is our go to method.

Time to complete: 15-20 mins
Difficulty: Easy
Adult Help: 🌳 Some help – Children can help measure, flavour and decorate the popcorn, but an adult should handle popping the corn in a saucepan or microwave and any hot equipment. Children can take over once the popcorn is cool.

You will need…

  • popcorn
  • red and green smarties or m&ms
  • sprinkles
  • white chocolate
A large bowl of freshly popped popcorn surrounded by bowls of red and green candy-coated chocolates, colorful sprinkles, and melted white chocolate, all set on a wooden table.

Let’s get making…

Cook you pop corn if you are using kernels. If you have ready made pop corn, put it into a large bowl.

Melt the white chocolate, then add this to your pop corn, mixing well so that the chocolate coats the pop corn. Add the green and red smarties and mix again. Add the sprinkles and mix. Leave you pop corn to cool before enjoying with a festive movie.
